On the Shelf

I’ve been feverishly collecting queer picturebooks for over a decade and working alongside young children to develop meaning from them.  I enjoy reading these books, sharing them, researching them, talking about them, and thinking incessantly about how to think of them. 

When I share my work related to picturebooks I’m often asked to make recommendation for those interested in sharing queer books with young people. But with such a varied range of style, topics, and quality there’s seldom enough time to ask the adequate number of questions and follow up about interest, context, and budget.  To help facilitate this exchange I’ve developed On the Shelf, a series of curated collections of picturebooks centered on a variety of topics, which can be read independently or jointly.
